The redesign of the Sanofi Toujeo website was driven by a fundamental shift in how people consume digital content. Users no longer browse with a “print mindset” confined to what appears above the fold. Large-scale behavioral research analyzing billions of visits shows that the majority of user attention now occurs below the fold, challenging long-standing assumptions about page hierarchy and content placement. At the same time, the rise of mobile and tablet devices—paired with increasingly compact laptops—has normalized vertical scrolling as an intuitive, gesture-based interaction. Industry guidance, including Apple’s Human Interface recommendations, reinforces the importance of minimizing page fragmentation to simplify navigation and reduce friction.This shift presents an opportunity: long-form, scroll-based design enables cohesive storytelling that traditional page-by-page structures cannot achieve. For Toujeo, this meant creating a narrative flow that builds understanding through context—guiding healthcare professionals and patients through clinical value, benefits, and support resources in a seamless progression. Continuous scrolling allows users to control their pace while maintaining immersion, eliminating disruptive page reloads and reducing cognitive fatigue. Research also indicates that engagement time increases significantly further down the page, with mid-page sections often receiving substantially longer view times than top-of-page content.By consolidating information into fewer, thoughtfully structured long pages, the redesign reduces “pogo-sticking” behaviors and supports deeper exploration. Rather than hiding key content across multiple disconnected screens, the Toujeo experience embraces a fluid, narrative-driven structure that encourages discovery below the fold. The result is a modern digital experience aligned with contemporary browsing behavior—one that prioritizes engagement, comprehension, and sustained attention.
